Surftec offer a number of remote and on-site services to education:

• Repairs and Servicing

All prices listed are to educational establishments with a valid DfEE number. Surftec does not supply to business or private home users except for teaching staff wanting to make a private purchase for their home systems.

Our hourly rate on-site is £70, various discounts are available on this when purchasing a days engineer time, or purcasing a block of time in advance - off-site remote management of a system, such as installing software, importing a new school years list of users, installation and upgrades to software such as Moodle gains an automatic 15% discount on the rates shown below (this discount is in addition to the discounts available below)!

Our engineer time won't turn into an endless charge, all work is quoted for - if we say it will take 4 hours to carry out work, and it ends up taking us 6 hours you will only be charged for what was quoted! There is an exception to this rule, for instance if the information provided to us was not accurate, or incomplete - for instance a school purchases a product from another supplier directly and we are asked to install it, we then find the product purchased is not suitable, or not designed for network use, or is just very poor quality we will inform you of our concerns within the first two hours, at which point we will then re-evaluate the time quoted or suggest aborting the installation.

All products shown on this site are rated, installation time is shown against the product if we support its use. Our compatibility database also shows products which we have found are not suitable for use with the systems we supply.

Discounts are only available to customers who have spent £2,000 with Surftec in the last 12 months, or those who have purchased new products.

Our pricing matrix:

Time can be purchased in advance to take advantage of all our discounts, and can be used in blocks no less than 4 hours without incurring a travelling charge. Banked engineer time can be topped up at any time at the fully discounted price of £50 per hour.

Further discounts and free engineer time is available to schools who act as reference sites for our systems. This is offered as compensation for the time taken by teaching staff to show other schools around their system.
